Overview

San Pedro

Central Nicaragua

The San Pedro Gold Project is located 130 km east of Matagalpa in central Nicaragua. The 16,806-hectare property has excellent road access, nearby power infrastructure, and cellular phone coverage. The earliest work on the property likely began in the 1930s with small-scale artisanal gold mining; however, more advanced exploration work between 2006 and 2013 included airborne geophysics, soil geochemical surveys, and trench and chip sampling, but only limited (<1000 m) drilling. The work defined a 15 km long gold trend along which six kilometers of gold-bearing quartz veins have been traced and trenched with over 40 channel samples reporting grades between 10 to 68 g/t Au. The remaining nine kilometers remain to be explored, providing potential for significant further upside on the project.

Altiplano has acquired the San Pedro property with the transfer of claims under review by the Nicaraguan Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
